When you think of flower delivery websites, you think of the bigger names like 1800Flowers.com, FTD, or Pro Flowers. But there are some less well known flower delivery websites that are absolutely worth taking a look at because you can save money and end up with a really great experience that you might have otherwise missed. One of the less well known sites that allow you to order flowers online is BloomsToday.com. I took the time to give them a chance after I found myself in a situation where I needed to send last minute flowers to my brother's in-laws after I was the last to find out they had a death in the family.

Given my specific situation, my favorite feature by far was definitely the same day delivery that is provided by a local florist. This means BloomsToday offers the same options as the more popular flower delivery websites so you can procrastinate until the very last minute and still look like a very thoughtful person by sending flowers. I loved that the floral arrangement I had picked out was guaranteed to make it to my destination the very same day because it was being sent from a local florist in their neighborhood! I'm not quite sure if this is standard practice but it did seem like everywhere else I called could not (and didn't even try to) guarantee that my flowers would make it there in time!

Many of the specials on the home page were 50% off the regular price, and they all still qualify for same day delivery regardless of how much you spend.
BloomsToday also provides upgrade options when you place an order of most of their flowers which means you can get a standard arrangement for one price, let’s say $29.99, or you can upgrade to a premium arrangement with more flowers and an even nicer vase for another $10.00. You are also given the option to add a little something extra to the order such as Mylar balloons, chocolates, or stuffed animals for a small fee.
Placing an order takes less than ten minutes from start to finish, and you can even write a message to the recipient that will be put on a card and added to the flowers for that extra personal touch. People should be aware that a service fee of $14.99 is added on to each floral delivery (or $15.99 for a weekend) but this seems to be pretty standard with other flower delivery websites as well. So what may seem like a $19.99 floral arrangement is actually $34.99 when you add in the service fee.
My recipient received the same day flower delivery to their home without a hitch. The driver called the flower recipient about thirty minutes before the flowers arrived however, so if you are sending flowers as a surprise you may want to write special instructions so the driver does not call and ruin the surprise!

Since I was pretty frantic by the time I found out about the funeral, I was overly appreciative of the customer service representative that helped me as he was extremely helpful with picking out an arrangement for the family as well as finding the florist closest to their home.
