you to receive a copy of your credit report from each of the three major
credit reporting agencies, Equifax, Transunion and Experian for only
one dollar along with a copy of your credit score. Although the website
used to offer these reports for free, (hence the name
FreeCreditReport.com), they now charge a one dollar fee. They claim that
this is due to new federally imposed restrictions which keep them from
providing the service for free. However they will donate the one dollar
to an online charity entitled Donorschoose.org which provides funds to
schools in need.

In the event that you need to contact customer service, representatives are available seven days a week. However they cannot accept or forward any disputes regarding any of the three credit reporting agencies or disputes about discrepancies on your credit report. You must contact the bureaus directly to resolve any issues. When we attempted to contact FreeCreditReport by phone, we received a recording and then we were disconnected without the option to speak to a live representative. There is an address listed if you wish to write them as well as an email address if you need support with using the site.
