There are three different ways that consumers can contact Guard Dog ID. They can choose to email their queries to their exclusive customer support email address. They may also call their toll free phone number or send something to the company in the mail. The website also features a help page where consumers can type in a question and the website will crawl its database for the answer. However, we found that the help desk does not always respond with the best answers.
We called the customer service line and there were some good points to our conversation as well as some bad. Our call was answered in about three minutes, which was not that bad. However, the representative that we were connected with made us sit on hold numerous times while they tried to figure out the correct answer to our questions. Our email query took twenty four hours to get answered, which was a bit too much. It appears that Guard Dog ID only operates on Eastern Standard Time, so if you live out of this time zone the chances of getting in contact with a representative or receiving a quick response are slim to none.
Upside:
$1 million dollar insurance coverage; and every consumer is given their own toll free number to speak with a representative if in the event they become a victim of identity theft.
Downside:
Customer service is only open Monday thru Friday 9am until 8pm Eastern Standard time. There is no free trial for this service.
