Bona Hardwood Floor Mop Review

Anyone that has hardwood floors can tell you when they are clean and shiny, nothing looks better. That is the issue though, keeping them clean and shiny, free of dust and looking new – what product do you use? This is why Star Reviews set out to test the As Seen on TV product the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop. This is a spray mop that uses the premixed Bona cleaners to keep your floors looking good.

We placed our order on the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop website and the product reached our doorstep in about a week. We were pleased to see all we got with the kit: Bona Hardwood Spray Mop, Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner and the Easy Glide Washable and Reusable Microfiber Pad. The Mop was in 2 pieces that went together quickly with just a snap. We were eager to put this Bona Hardwood Floor Mop up against our other non-powered cleaning mops to see how it stacked up.

At first look the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop is a very well put together mop, it has a sturdy yet ergonomic handle and we felt it was very comfortable to use. The swiveling mop head made the product versatile enough to get around furniture and in and out of corners with ease. We were eager to get out in the living space where we could test the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop on our light colored hardwood floors. The floors were in good shape to start so we were happy to know that the Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner is formulated to ensure that the floors don’t dull and keep them looking shiny and new. We were calmed to know that the Bona Hardwood Floor Cleaner is 100% safe for both people and pets, so our cats had nothing to worry about. It is also nice that the Bona products have been around since 1919, so we know we had a manufacturer and product that could withstand the test of time. With the cleaner premixed in the bottle we just had to put the bottle on the mop and get to cleaning, no wasting time mixing or fussing with a mop and a bucket.

We decided to simulate some dust on the floor using baby powder and put the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop head to head against a Swifter mop to see how it stacked up. A Swifter mop is pretty much just a dry dust mop and it didn’t do too great at removing the dust from the floor, we then went to the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop and it did the job perfectly. The Bona cleaner is safe for all types of wood, but we also noted that the product would perform nicely on all types of hard surface flooring and took it out to the patio to see how it preformed on some ceramic tile. It was quick and easy and left the tile looking nice and clean – Bona Hardwood Floor Mop is for more than just hardwood floors! After the test our microfiber cleaning pad was dirty, but after a quick wash in the washing machine we were ready to go again – no more wasting money and throwing away cleaning pads.

  • Product is manufactured by a company in business since 1919 – Bona is a name you can trust
  • Bona Hardwood floor cleaner is safe for all types of wood
  • Bona Hardwood Floor Mop works on more than just hardwood floors, it passed our test on ceramic tile as well
  • The Bona Hardwood Floor Mop is ergonomic and feels nice and sturdy in the hand
  • Swiveling head allows you to quickly get in and around furniture
  • No batteries
  • Reusable, machine washable microfiber cleaning pad
  • Cleaner is non toxic and Greenguard certified for indoor air quality

  • Replacement cleaners are around $9 – still slightly more economical to use a mop and bucket

We were very pleased with the performance of our Bona Hardwood Floor Mop. The Bona Hardwood Floor Mop did a great job at picking up the dust while leaving behind no haze or residue and left our floor looking sparkling clean. We were happy to see the product is versatile enough to be used on other flooring surfaces (for best results on tile and other surfaces use the Bona Stone, Tile and Laminate cleaner). The Bona Hardwood Floor Mop felt good in our hands and was a breeze to assemble and use. Star Reviews gives the product 5 out of 6 Stars, the Bona Hardwood Floor Mop is definitely and As Seen on TV product that satisfied us and left us feeling content with our clean floors.

Try the Bona hardwood spray on your stainless steel appliances. It works better than anything else I’ve ever used, and I’ve tried just about everything out there – commercial and homemade. When I Bona mop my kitchen hardwood, the first thing I do, while the pad is still completely clean, is spray the front of the frig, dishwasher, and stove, and mop them. It’s amazing – cleans off the crud, and leave a streak-free sheen. Talk about convenient and easy!
