HD Vision Readers Review

Posted on: March 25th, 2010 by Arthur

The folks at HD Vision are back again.  This time they are promoting their latest product, the HD Vision Readers.  We have previously tested the original HD Vision sunglasses with mixed results.  These promise more of the same high definition vision combined with bifocal reading lens.  If they worked as well as the infomercial shows, the HD Vision Readers would be an ideal solution for outdoor reading.

The HD Vision Readers utilize the same lenses as the original HD Vision sunglasses and promise to block out glare while enhancing color.  What makes these different from the originals is a built in bifocal magnifying band available in magnifications from 1.0 to 3.5.  This makes the HD Vision Readers two eyeglasses in one and perfect for reading by the beach or the pool.  The glasses are available with either black or tortoise shell frames.

We took the HD Vision Readers down to the beach to test them out. The glasses do provide excellent protection from the sun and provide very crisp and clear vision under the brightest conditions. However, much like the previous HD Vision glasses we had reviewed we found their claims regarding seeing the world in high definition are a bit exaggerated.  The built in reading lenses worked excellent.  The magnification was great and these are perfect for people who wish to read in the sun.

Pros:

  • Nice Style
  • Bifocal Magnification
  • UV and Glare Protection
  • Excellent Price

Cons:

  • Exaggerated HD Claims

Although the claims of seeing the world in a high definition clarity may be a bit over the top, these are a solid choice for people wanting an expensive pair of sunglasses they can use to read in the sunlight.  They look good and provide both the protection and magnification necessary to enjoy reading while sitting at the pool, beach or in the backyard. We rate the HD Vision Readers 5 out of 6 Stars.
