for ipod users only

I think itunes only gets away with being profitable because Apple marketed the iPod to the ends of the earth. I think itunes, while it has almost all the songs you could possibly ask for, it also charges more than other sites. Also, if you're like me and you're anti-iPod because it's way too expensive and you can get a Sansa for cheaper AND put pictures, movies, etc... on it without having to buy another contraption, you'll understand why it sucks that itunes only downloads mp4 formatted songs. These songs you can't put on anything else other than an iPod AND I think it's stupid that you can't transfer iPod info from one computer to the next without losing EVERYTHING on your iPod. Ehh- I just think other sites are better.

LOVE it and use it pretty much daily

I will admit it. I love Apple products and iTunes, even though I do not own an Apple PC. I do own the iPod Shuffle and I do have all of my music library in iTunes on my PC. I love that they have such a huge selection of music to chose from for a great price. They have 2-3 free song downloads a week too. You can convert your entire MP3 or WAV file music library into iTunes too and it will find the info for you and album covers. The only downside that I can think of is sharing. You can not share iTunes downloaded music with anyone or any other program due to their licensing issues. You can get around this via ripping a CD of the music, but it is cumbersome to have to do that. I would generally recommend this service to anyone.

Slick if you're using Apple products

The iTunes store would get full marks for its slick interface, intuitive search and seamless integration with the iTunes player if it wasn't for a couple of annoyances.
The main problem is that the music files are in a proprietary Apple format that comes with DRM (digital rights management). If you are using iTunes and an iPod (as I am), then this works fine for everyday use. Sometimes you just want a plain old MP3, though. The DRM requires you to register computers with purchased songs and...
