for Monitronics, 80 percent of the monitored security systems that they
have
installed and monitor are wireless security systems.
Wireless security systems are more affordable and
easier to
install than the wired type because they are pre-designed and
manufactured and
can be installed right out of the box. If you are in the process of
building a
new home, Monitronics recommends that if you have an electrician
hard-wire the
home for a customized security system during the building process. Some
newer homes
come pre-wired for a home security system and Monitronics may be able to
work
with the wiring that is currently in place. A sales consultant will be
able to
determine whether the current wiring system that exists in your home
will work
with their equipment. Some alterations may have to be done to your
wiring which
may cost you a bit more.
Monitronics.com fails to provide pertinent
information about
their security equipment as far as what comes included with the systems.
Basic
home security systems generally come with 2 window or door sensors, an
alarm, a
motion detector, and sign and window decals. Not only does the website
fail to
mention the pricing for the equipment but they do not disclose the
monthly fee
for the monitoring service either. Although they claim that all of the
security
systems are custom made for each client, some basic pricing information
would
be nice. There is nothing more annoying than having to take time off
from work
and wait for someone to show up at your door only to find that their
product is
too expensive for your budget or it does not work for your needs. There
is
currently no free trial offer on the website.
