My favorite feature of the ESET NOD32 Antivirus 5 software is the friendly user interface. Nothing is more frustrating than purchasing a product only to find that you don’t know how to use it! This will not be the case with NOD32. No program could be simpler in this area. If you happen to find yourself stumped on a screen or feature, I suggest turning to the tutorials before calling the customer service line. Unlike some of the other antivirus software available, ESET offers free support for free and paid users alike, which was very convenient when it needed.
Since I am by no means an expert in Internet Security software, I was so thankful that the ESET software was so easy to use. It has been a long time since I was able to download software onto my computer without having to call my husband in the room to help me run it! The ESET NOD32 AntiVirus 5 Experience:
From the moment I installed this software, I noticed a difference. My computer was already running more efficiently and wasn’t bogging down when I started a scan. The actual download process took less than 5 minutes, however the scan process did take about an hour or so to run completely. The scan though impressed me even more. Not only did it catch things my old program had missed, but I could barely even tell it was operating. The user interface didn’t take me any time at all to learn and again, I’m not in the least bit computer savvy! If I could figure everything out on my own, it's safe to say that the software is easy to navigate!
One thing I noticed was that the software was picking up a variety of things that my old program didn’t even look for, like malware, for example. If it did, it wouldn’t have missed so much. I’m glad I made the switch when I did because I most likely saved myself a fortune in terms of computer repairs. Although I didn't quite understand everything that the ESET software flagged, I understood the report enough to know where the viruses came from, so I could stay clear of the sources in the future.
The only complaint I have read about is when you go to renew. It seems as though the renewal process could use a bit of work as many customers report that it is not a simple process and a customer support representative will more than likely have to guide you through the process step by step. I am not at that point yet, but at least now I know how to avoid any problems. Apparently if you purchase your renewal from anyone other than ESET you may have a problem continuing your subscription. To avoid that, I plan on purchasing directly from the company. It can’t be that hard.

The ESET NOD32 AntiVirus 5 Customer Service:
When it came time for customer service to be considered, we were somewhat disappointed with the ESET options available. Although there is an extensive FAQ section located on the site, there is no visible customer support phone number available. We believe this is because the main headquarters of ESET is located in Hong Kong, so the time difference may have created this issue. However, there is an office located in New Jersey so if you need to contact a customer support representative by phone, you would need to first send an email to the company, detailing your issue and specifically ask for a phone number to contact.
We had send the initial email both directly to the email addresses listed on the site as well as the online form. We were flooded with confirmation emails, none of which included a phone number. So we decided to just ask for a phone number flat out. While one representative responded in their email that phone support was not available, another email was answered by a different representative who passed along a phone number. Although the number was not toll free, we were still able to contact someone who provided exceptional support and assistance. But at the end of the day, the headache to get to the actual call really wasn't worth the time we spent.
