Panda Antivirus Pro 2011 is the newest addition to the Panda Internet Security team that enables you to protect your computer from potential threats in real time and does so very efficiently. Once we got the program installed, we were more eager than ever to get the testing process going. We must admit, their website resources and special offers made us that much more anxious to try the 2011 versions of their software. Let's see how the Panda Antivirus Pro 2011 software held up.

We really liked the fact that it has the Panda USB Vaccine which means that you don't have to worry about carrying a virus from one computer to the other. It will protect your PC and USB Drive from various threats because, believe it or not, you can carry viruses on portable devices such as an iPod. And these days, everyone has an iPod or some type of Mp3 player. This feature will prevent those unintentional viruses from taking over when you try to transfer music, video, and other files that you may store on your USB based devices.To us, that is an excellent feature that we could all use and appreciate.
I know that I personally use USB based devices on a regular base whether its my Mp3 player or my external hard drive. This means I need all the protection I get when bringing stuff from a different computer to my own. This feature does just that and sees to it that I'm not picking up viruses on a different computer and letting them invade my own system. This is the one feature I personally like most for that very reason!

The Panda Antivirus Pro 2011 Experience:
We surfed the Panda website for a few minutes before we decided to download the free trial and give it a shot. Once we decided to try it, we downloaded the trial and began to install it. The actual installation process went by pretty quick so we assumed that the scans and program itself would run quickly as well. Needless to say, we were wrong. We ran a complete scan first and it took a few hours to complete. It may have been from the amount of files that we have on our computer but either way, there is no reason any antivirus software should take that long to complete a scan. The green and grey interface wasn't too easy on the eyes either. It almost looked as if a novice designed the program as it didn't even have a logo, only text. It is highly recommended to have some lights on around the room when using this antivirus software as the interface comes off as very bright and can be a real pain to your eyes as well.
We toyed around with a few of the features as well to see how effective they were and for the most part, they seemed to do fine. We still couldn't get past how long it took Panda Antivirus Pro 2011 to complete a scan though so we ran it again. It didn't take quite as long the second go around but it still took well over an hour. It slowed down the computer somewhat but nothing too noticeable. Either way, we feel like this antivirus software has a lot to improve upon and will stay at the bottom of our list until it does so. The slow scans are what really set this program back this year.
Not all of the features were bad though. As I mentioned, I did like the USB Vaccine even though we had a little bit of trouble finding out how it worked. If you find yourself in a similar position, take a look at the forums as we found the information listed there very helpful! The
Multimedia and Gaming Mode is rather convenient though especially if you just bought the new Call of Duty game as I did then you know that you want to play uninterrupted. This mode will allow you to do just that. So there you have it, two good things about the antivirus that don't quite come close to making up for the bad but it's definitely a start. They can only get better from here and it looks like they realize this and have already started. I wouldn't count Panda out of the picture just yet.

Panda Antivirus Pro 2011 Customer Service:
Panda Security offers customer service that makes up for the slow scan times and the lack of features in their antivirus software. Their representatives are very helpful most of the time and respond to calls very quickly. You can even email them and get an almost instant response. They are available during normal business hours and are ready to help you whenever you need it. There are times when they don't quite have the answer to your question but don't let that discourage you. They won't stop until they have answered all of your questions and addressed any of the concerns that you may have. That's what makes a Customer Service department a good one, right? The fact that they work with you and really try to resolve your issues gives them one of the best customer service departments I've came across in a long time. The wait times weren't bad either which means I was on the phone quicker and speaking to a live person faster than normal. All of this won't move them to the top of the list or make up for some of the bad things about the program but it will get them going in the right direction and it never hurts to have good customer service and Panda definitely has it.
