Lost touch with your best friend from high school? Wondering whatever happened to that ex that you just can't seem to get over? Back before the power of the information superhighway finding lost friends and relatives meant paying ridiculous sums of money to private investigators. Thanks to today's people finder websites, it can now all be done for less than $100, But which sites offer the best online people search and which are a waste of time and money? That's what the Star Reviews team was determined to find out as we started the research for our people finder reviews. PeopleFinder, one of the leading online people search websites, was one of the first site we hopped onto. Here's what we uncovered...
What’s New with People Finder?- Free reverse phone search.
- Email lookups.
- Comprehensive real estate reports.
Our Favorite People Finder Feature: One thing that really caught our attention on PeopleFinder was the word "free". While some sites charge $15 or more for reverse phone look ups, PeopleFinder does it free. While others charge $20 or more to get an address, PeopleFinder doesn't charge a dime. It's one of the only sites that won't take a bite out of your budget.
The People Finder Experience: When we first landed on the PeopleFinder website we thought it looked like most of the other online people finder sites we had visited – until we realized that the searches we were looking at were free. That search field to find someone's phone number and address? It didn't bring us to a payment or checkout page. It just gave us the results we asked for – and we didn't have to pay a dime!
Now, don't expect the free searches to come up with all of the results you need. If a number or name you're looking for is unlisted you're going to have to go for the more advanced searches run by Intelius, and those are going to cost you some money. If, however, you can get the info you're looking for using People Finder's basic searches, you'll be saving a boatload of money compared to the other sites.
While people finder searches are free on the site, background checks and other comprehensive reports are not. These searches are actually run by Intelius (via the PeopleFinder interface). The good news is that you don't have to pay for a search until you know for sure it's going to provide you with results. No results? No money.
People Finder's paid searches aren't the cheapest around, but you can save additional money by joining their Club Intelius savings program. For an annual $10 charge you can get 10 percent off all of your People Finder purchases. If you only plan on running one or two searches, this probably won't be cost effective. If, however, you plan on running numerous searches throughout the year it's definitely something you should consider.

PeopleFinder Customer Service: We loved the People Finder website, and we loved the free searches, but the serious lack of customer service was a bit of a problem for us. First of all, there's no phone number or email address listed anywhere on the site. Nor is there a help section or an FAQ of any kind whatsoever. Customer service? Unfortunately, you won't find it here.
Upside:
Free basic searches that other sites charge for, cost-competitive pricing on advanced searches, same-day results. Downside:
Absolutely no customer support whatsoever.
