Scottrade offers a full line of online trading platforms, market
research tools and investment products to help investors take control
of their financial lives and help to improve their financial future.
They are also not newbies to investing, with the company having been
around since 1980. In addition to offering substantial benefits as a
stock trading website, Scott Trades is good to its employees, being
named one of the top 100 companies to work for by Fortune Magazine. We
liked the simplistic yet technologically savvy design for the Scottrade
website. All areas are clearly marked and details are presented in a
clear, no nonsense style. The ease of navigation through the Scottrade
website makes users who are fairly new to investing feel more relaxed
and confident in their decisions. And if the user should have any
questions, answers are just a phone call away through dedicated, live
customer services representatives which are highly trained in the field
of finance.
Upon visiting the Scottrade website, I was pleasantly surprised at the simplicity of the design. The homepage offered easy navigation and, so far, I had not come across any 25 letter words. Upon reviewing the homepage for a minute or two, I had already gained some knowledge about what Scottrade had to offer.

Scottrade Pricing:
- The minimum amount required to open an account is only $500. This is way
less than what is required with some of the other big names in trade.

Scottrade Customer Service:
Honestly, the only thing that we didn't like in regards to the services offered by Scottrade was the fact that their customer service department is only available on Monday through Friday from 8:30a.m. to 5p.m and they are closed on weekends. Especially being that I'm pretty new to the stock trading game, I would have liked to have a bigger window as to when I can call and get help. Although the online education offered is pretty extensive, I'm working during the hours that customer service is open. Having customer service that is available 24/7 would offer additional benefit of those who trade outside of traditional business hours or for those who travel.
Getting Started with Scottrade:
Once determining that Scottrade is right for you, signing up and opening an account is a fairly straight forward and simple process. All it takes is clicking on the Open an Account button, which is prominently displayed at the top right hand side of the website. From there, all that is required is to create a log in ID and user password, answer some general questions about yourself to protect your identity, and fund your account by bank card or checking account.
