In our search for the best apartment rental services, Star Reviews wanted to include a variety of websites and not simply vacant apartment listings. Sublet.com was one of the more unique apartment websites we came across, and definitely think they're a good place to look if you have diverse rental/leasing needs.
What's New Sublet.com Rental Listings?- Two levels of membership available.
- 25% off- paid memberships by providing Sublet.com with the email addresses of friends who may be interested in the website's services.
- Sign up for daily listing updates.
Star Reviews' Favorite Sublet.com Feature: Though it was a bit hard to find at first, the Tenant FAQ database provided answers to questions that tenants frequently run into. Topics covered included things like what you should know before giving a deposit. This section also gave interesting information on products and services Sublet.com plans on implementing in the future, such as online rental payments and escrow services.
About Sublet.com: Although the name may be deceiving, Sublet.com does not only offer sublet lease listings. In fact, the Sublet.com website is an apartment rental service that offers listings of apartments, sublets, subleases, roommates & houses for rent. No matter what type of situation or lease you're looking for, what your price range is or how your credit looks, Sublet.com is likely to have something that matches your needs perfectly.
The Sublet.com Experience: When we visited Sublet.com, we found the website layout to be rather busy and rudimentary.
We were surprised to see two levels of membership -- one paid and one free. Only with a paid membership can you access all of the Sublet.com listings in your selected area. The cost of a paid membership varies depending on what geographical location you are interested in. The membership prices generally range from $25 to $100 for a 90-day period.
The search features were easy to use and we were able to locate the apartments in our specified area in just under a minute.
The Search:
In the process of writing the apartment rental service reviews, our team entered the same search criteria into each apartment finder website in order to compare the results returned. The search criteria included all apartments in downtown Chicago with a price range of $500 to $1,000 per month that allowed cats and/or small dogs. When we performed this search on Sublet.com, we were presented with the following results:
- S. Halsted: $1,000
- N. Erie Noble: $750
- Buena: $850
- W. Addison Ave: $990
- Ogden: $925
Customer Support:
Sublet.com offers customer support via an online help request form. We received a response to our email request within just a few hours of submitting it. The answer we received was friendly and addressed our question adequately.
Upside:
Extensive FAQ database, valuable services are under development, fast and friendly customer service.
Downside:
You have to pay for access to all area listings. No telephone support.
