US Search
was not, by any means, the most attractive or flashy website we came
across. It was, however, one of the most simple to use. All of the
different search options were accessible via the tabbed menu located
across the top of the homepage and conducting a search consisted of
little more than filling out a short form, submitting your search
criteria, and waiting for results.
Another thing we liked
about US Search was the fact that it allows you to conduct a
preliminary search before you actually pay. This means you don't waste
time or money paying for a search only to be told no results are
available. US Search won't take your money unless they're sure a result
is going to be delivered.
While US Search does provide the basic
people finder search that allows you to search by name and last known
location (or even maiden name), it also offers a wealth of other online
search features. Want to know whose number that is on your caller ID?
Conduct a reverse phone number search. Wondering if that guy your
sister is dating has a criminal record? US Search can tell you that
too. You can even get a real estate report that tells you how much your
property is worth (or the property of someone else).
Overall
we have to say that while US Search may have not been one of the
cheapest websites we came across, they were definitely one of the
easiest to use and one of the most comprehensive.

Our Favorite US Search Feature:
We
really liked US Search's contractor screening tool. We didn't run into
any other sites offering this feature, and for those who are thinking
of hiring a stranger to do work in their home, it could be a priceless
resource.
US Search Customer Service:
US
Search offers customer service via both phone and email. This is a nice
change of pace considering many of today's websites seem to avoid live
phone support. When we called the company we received a fast and
courteous response from a very helpful employee. We were told exactly
what information our report would contain, and exactly what would
happen if we weren't satisfied with the report. Email support was also
prompt, getting back to us the very same day. All in all, we were more
than pleased with the service offered by this online people finder.
Upside:
Huge variety of searches offered, don't pay unless you get results, great customer service.
Downside:
Prices aren't the cheapest.
